The Haryana government is stepping up its efforts to assist low-income families by enhancing the financial aid provided under the Mukhyamantri Vivaah Shagun Yojana. The financial support offered to families with daughters ready for marriage has been raised to Rs 51,000 from the previous Rs 41,000, according to an official announcement.
This increase, approved by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is expected to directly benefit thousands of families earning up to Rs 1.80 lakh annually. The scheme aims to aid economically weaker sections in facilitating marriages for their daughters, providing a significant boost to their prospects.
The initiative has also been extended to include women sportspersons and 'divyang' couples, ensuring that either partner can avail of the Rs 51,000 assistance upon marriage registration, which must occur within six months of the wedding to be eligible.
