Delays have marred the legal proceedings in the Pune Porsche car crash case as the prosecution argues that defense tactics are hindering justice. On Wednesday, the court was told that the accused are filing 'frivolous' applications, which has prolonged the trial process.
The case involves a 17-year-old who allegedly drove a Porsche under the influence of alcohol, resulting in the deaths of two IT professionals in May 2024. The prosecution is pushing for charges to be framed against 10 accused individuals, citing DNA evidence that suggests blood sample swapping with the juvenile's mother.
Nine of the accused are currently incarcerated, with defense lawyers arguing against certain charges. A specific point of contention remains the applicability of forgery charges, which lawyers contest do not apply to actions their clients did not directly commit.
