Senior AAP leader and former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia has accused the BJP-led Delhi government of launching an 'assault on the middle class' with its new ban on refueling older vehicles in the capital.

At a press conference, Sisodia criticized the BJP government for removing 61 lakh vehicles, deeming this move more like 'Phulera ki Panchayat' rather than governance. He highlighted that even well-maintained vehicles with minimal mileage are affected by this policy.

The policy, effective July 1, bans petrol vehicles older than 15 years and diesel vehicles older than 10 years from refueling in Delhi as part of pollution control efforts. Penalties include fines and potential impounding, with Sisodia questioning who benefits from this approach.
