The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday granted bail to three individuals involved in the supply of adulterated ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, the governing body of the Sri Venkateswara Temple.
Bail was accorded to Apurva Vinaykanth Chavda, Pomil Jain, and Vipin Jain on a personal bond of Rs 25,000 each, following a court order that recognized their cooperation with the investigation and concluded their further incarceration was unwarranted.
The controversy began in 2024 when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that substandard ingredients were used in making the renowned Tirupati laddu, prompting a Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team to probe the matter.
