Bhubaneswar police arrested BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan on Thursday evening for allegedly assaulting an Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer. The incident caused unrest among OAS officers, leading to a mass leave across the state.
Pradhan surrendered to the DCP office and was immediately taken into custody after a medical examination. The allegations stemmed from the alleged attack on Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo, who was reportedly dragged from his office last week.
Following the arrest of Pradhan, who was later denied bail, the OAS Officers Association called off their protest. The investigation, guided by Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena, has resulted in the arrest of six individuals so far.
