On Monday, Justice Manas Ranjan Pathak officially joined the Orissa High Court, taking the judicial oath administered by Chief Justice Harish Tandon. The ceremony, held in the presence of State Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan and Advocate General Pitambar Acharya, marks a significant bolstering of the court's benches.
Justice Pathak's appointment, recommended by the Supreme Court and confirmed by the Union Law Ministry last July, follows his tenure as a judge at the Gauhati High Court. His transfer enhances the court's capacity, increasing its active strength to 20.
With positions still to fill, Justice Pathak's arrival addresses the urgent need for a fully operational bench in the Orissa High Court, reinforcing the judiciary's ability to manage its caseload effectively.
