The Samyuk Kisan Morcha (SKM) has declared August 13 as 'Corporations Quit India' day, escalating their protest against government policies and corporate influence, especially foreign trade agreements. SKM announced plans to intensify demonstrations marking the five-year anniversary of the farmers' protest.
Farmer leaders are concerned about the expansion of land acquisitions across India and are demanding the implementation of a guaranteed Minimum Support Price (MSP) based on Swaminathan Commission recommendations. The SKM is also actively opposing recent trade deals with the United States, which they claim will harm native agriculture sectors.
In preparation for a significant demonstration on November 26, SKM plans to organize public meetings, tractor parades, and effigy burning across the nation. The demonstration aims to warn the NDA-led government against policies favoring corporate giants and to rally support against anti-farmer political agendas.
