In a startling twist, police have registered a non-cognisable case against a 22-year-old IT professional from Pune, who falsely claimed she was raped by a supposed 'delivery agent' at her apartment.
Initially, the woman alleged that a man pretending to be a delivery agent entered her home, rendered her unconscious with a chemical spray, and committed the crime. She asserted that the man took a selfie using her phone and threatened to spread her photos if she spoke out.
However, investigations revealed that the 'delivery agent' was, in fact, an acquaintance visiting with her consent. Authorities said there was no forced entry or use of spray. Consequently, police registered a case against the accuser for providing false information intending to mislead law enforcement.
