Truck Driver Arrested in Malkangiri for Alleged Rape

A truck driver hailing from Madhya Pradesh has been apprehended in connection with the alleged rape of a girl in Odisha's Malkangiri district, according to police reports on Tuesday.

The incident came to the forefront when the girl's family filed a missing person report at the Malkangiri Adarsh police station after she didn't return home from a friend's place on Sunday night.

The girl was discovered on Monday night in a dubious state alongside a truck driver near Bija Ghat on NH 326. Prompted by local informants, the police intervened, recovering the girl and apprehending the driver. The truck, bound for Jeypore in Koraput district, was carrying cement at the time and has been impounded as investigations continue.
