The Pune police have charged Jalgaon's Praful Lodha with rape, following his arrest in Mumbai for abusing minors and raping a woman while promising job offers, officials reported on Tuesday.

A 23-year-old woman claims Lodha called her to a hotel, pledging a job for her husband in exchange for sexual favors. Upon refusal, she was allegedly threatened and raped, according to Bavdhan police in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune.

Previously arrested by Mumbai police, Lodha has been associated with political figures. Articles seized include electronic devices from his Jalgaon properties, further connecting him to ongoing cases under BNS and POCSO regulations.
