The son of BJP MP Subhash Barala, Vikas Barala, embroiled in a high-profile stalking case, is appointed as a law officer in Haryana, according to officials. Vikas will serve as an Assistant Advocate General, representing the state government on judicial platforms in Delhi.

His appointment is a component of Haryana's recruitment push to appoint 100 law officers, effective from July 18. Vikas was accused of stalking and attempting to kidnap an IAS officer's daughter in 2017, a case still under trial in Chandigarh.

The recruitment initiative falls under the Haryana Law Officers (Engagement) Act, 2016. Haryana's Advocate General Parvindra Chauhan and Vikas Barala could not be reached for comments regarding the appointment.
