Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi are set to unveil the UK-India Vision-2035 roadmap on Thursday. This ambitious plan covers a range of areas, including defense and technology, and aims to establish clear goals and milestones for both nations, according to British Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
The centerpiece of their discussions is the UK-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA), a landmark deal poised to significantly boost market access and drive bilateral trade by approximately USD 34 billion annually. Lammy emphasized the FTA as a testament to the robust partnership between the UK and India.
Beyond trade, the Vision-2035 agreement aims to unlock new opportunities in defense cooperation, innovation, climate, and education. It sets ambitious goals to tackle challenges, foster growth, and ensure peace and security, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region, marking a step-change in UK-India relations for the decade ahead.
