BJD Leader Accused of Sexual Misconduct Under False Promises
A BJD leader in Bhubaneswar faces charges, including rape and intimidation, after allegedly promising marriage to a minor under false pretenses. The charges were filed at Laxmisagar police station under multiple sections, including the POCSO Act. The BJD has yet to respond, and the corporator remains unarrested.

A prominent leader of the opposition BJD in Bhubaneswar stands accused of heinous acts, including rape, according to local police. A case has been registered against him involving multiple severe charges.
The complaint, submitted at Laxmisagar police station, includes accusations under BNS sections 64(2), 89, 296, and 352, alongside section 6 of the POCSO Act. The survivor, who is 19, alleged that the leader promised marriage, initiated a physical relationship, and pressured her into terminating a pregnancy.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation corporator allegedly threatened the survivor when she sought marriage, urging her to leave the city. Despite the allegations, the corporator has not yet been apprehended. The BJD has remained silent, while earlier, the NSUI state president faced similar allegations.
