The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing allegations of individual misconduct at the Mumbai Bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), as confirmed by government officials on Monday.

In response to questions from the Lok Sabha, Harsh Malhotra, the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, clarified that these allegations are specific to personal conduct and do not implicate the entire institution. The NCLT has expressed its full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.

The queries arose following concerns, particularly from Anil Yeshwant Desai of Shiv Sena (UBT), about potential corruption within NCLT and whether any of its officials are under investigation by agencies like the CBI. Minister Malhotra reassured that the NCLT maintains transparency and accountability, adhering to Central Vigilance Commission guidelines.
