A gunman unleashed horror in Bangkok on Monday, killing five people at a bustling market before turning the gun on himself. Local authorities confirmed the gunman initially targeted three security guards, then a fourth victim over a personal dispute, according to Siam Bunsom, chief of the Metropolitan Police Bureau.
The attack continued as the gunman reloaded, entered the market, and shot a female merchant, injuring another in the process. Police footage reveals the suspect, identifiable by a white hat and backpack, navigating the Or Tor Kor Market's parking area.
Eyewitness Duangnapa Yeerunsiri recounted the ordeal, stating, 'He fired many shots rapidly,' prompting her and companions to seek immediate police help. While no tourists were victims, the incident highlights ongoing issues of gun violence in Thailand and raises concerns for the nation's crucial tourism sector.
