In a strategic move to position Delhi as a premier destination for business and leisure tourism, the city's government has rolled out a draft industrial policy spanning from 2025 to 2035. The document proposes ambitious plans to enhance the hospitality and tourism infrastructure, particularly near key locations like ITPO at Pragati Maidan and Yashobhoomi.
Key highlights of the policy include capital investment reimbursement of up to Rs 50 crore and a Rs 400 crore venture capital fund, aimed at stimulating growth in the frontier tech services sector. The draft also outlines measures to boost the city's hospitality scene through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), aiming to create a walk-to-work culture by locating hotels and serviced apartments in industrial zones.
Furthermore, a focus on MICE tourism underscores Delhi's role as a pivotal stage for major events, supported by good international connectivity and infrastructure. By easing regulatory barriers and enhancing the dining and nightlife experience, the policy seeks to amplify Delhi's appeal to both national and international tourists and investors.
