In a high-stakes operation, three Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan militants, including the mastermind behind an attack on Chinese engineers, were neutralized in Karachi. This dramatic encounter took place on Sunday night as security forces engaged in a fierce exchange of gunfire with the militants.
Senior Counter-Terrorism Department official, Raja Umer Khattab, confirmed that the joint effort by the CTD and intelligence agencies targeted a hideout in Karachi's Manghopir area. The operation resulted in the recovery of a suicide jacket, grenades, and a cache of weaponry, underscoring the threat posed by the group.
The deceased militants, identified as TTP members, included the perpetrator linked to a high-profile attack on Chinese nationals at a textile mill. This development signals a substantial blow to the TTP's operations in Pakistan, which have surged following the collapse of a ceasefire agreement last year.
