Security forces have struck a significant blow against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir by eliminating three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam massacre. The joint operation, carried out by the Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police, was announced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha.

According to Shah, the operation, known as Operation Mahadev, targeted Suleman alias Faizal, an A-category commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, alongside fellow terrorists Afghani and Jibran. The trio was held responsible for the massacre at Baisaran valley in Pahalgam and confirmed as the culprits by detained aides.

Recovered weapons, including M-9 and AK-47 rifles, were sent to Chandigarh for forensic analysis, which matched the bullets used in the Pahalgam attack. Pakistani IDs and chocolates were also discovered, underscoring the foreign involvement in the attack. Shah criticized previous governments for their passive handling of terrorism, citing Pakistan as the root cause.
