Life Sentence in Assam for Grisly 2020 Double Murder

On Tuesday, the Sonitpur Additional District and Sessions Court in Assam handed Gitumoni Bezboruah a life sentence for murdering an elderly Anglo-Indian couple in 2020. His brother, Ujjal Bezboruah, faced acquittal in the same case.
The couple was found dead at their Potiachuburi residence on November 20, 2020. Police reported that the murder involved the theft of cash and jewellery before the culprits fled the scene.
Gitumoni and his brother were apprehended by authorities on November 22, 2020, marking a swift resolution to the horrific crime that shook the local community.
