A 31-year-old security guard named Maninder has been apprehended by the Crime Branch for allegedly abducting a Jaipur-based businessman from IGI Airport, using a cryptocurrency transaction as bait, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Maninder, a proclaimed offender with charges of abduction, ransom, and robbery at Delhi's IGI Airport and Janakpuri police stations, was nabbed in a coordinated operation in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. He was using a false identity to work as a security guard.
Identified as a member of the Papla-Mahakal gang, Maninder's criminal record spans multiple states, with past kidnapping cases linked to Bitcoin scams. His capture followed a tip-off, but further investigations are underway to capture other gang associates.
