The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a significant breakthrough with the arrest of Priyanshu Kashyap, a key Naxal operative. According to an official statement on Wednesday, Kashyap was reportedly 'actively working to promote anti-national activities' and has been connected with the CPI(Maoist) organization.

Hailing from the Naxal-infested Bastar district in Chhattisgarh, Kashyap was apprehended in Haryana's Rohtak district on Tuesday based on information provided by the state police. The NIA recovered a mobile phone, a tablet, two memory cards, and documents linking him to the CPI(Maoist).

The accused is believed to have been working as the area committee in-charge for CPI(Maoist) in Rohtak, striving to expand the outfit's influence in northern states. This development comes amid broader investigations into the organization's recruitment efforts and its operations across regions like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab.
