Delhi Police have successfully apprehended a 58-year-old woman involved in numerous criminal activities, following a two-year evasion from law enforcement authorities, an official stated on Friday.

Identified as Meeta, this resident of Nand Nagri was a wanted figure under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) since 2023, known for her bootlegging and drug peddling activities. DCP (Central) Nidhin Valsan disclosed that she had been a history-sheeter at the Nand Nagri police station, facing around 20 criminal charges.

A tip-off revealed that Meeta would be visiting a Delhi Milk Scheme booth in central Delhi. Consequently, authorities set up a trap, leading to her capture. During interrogation, Meeta confessed to entering crime at a young age, with her first arrest under the Excise Act in 1985. Her illegal ventures have included alcohol and narcotics, justifying the use of MCOCA in 2023.
