No skeletal remains were discovered at two alleged mass burial sites in Dharmasthala, police reported on Friday. These sites were among those identified by an anonymous witness as locations of concern.
Excavations at the seventh and eighth spots near the Nethravathi riverbank followed the discovery of remains at a previous site. Despite heightened security and efforts, no further remains were uncovered.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been actively working to unearth evidence across several marked locations. This comes after serious allegations of mass murder and illegal burials over the past two decades in the region.
