The Haryana Cabinet has given the green light to amendments in mineral mining regulations, set to initiate the Inter-State Transit Pass (ISTP) framework, according to an official statement. A fee of Rs 80 per metric tonne will apply to all vehicles ferrying minerals into Haryana, ignoring their final location or consumption point.
Under current guidelines, vehicles carrying minerals within Haryana pay Rs 20, while those transporting out of state incur a Rs 100 charge at exit points. The new amendments also update royalty fees to Rs 80 per metric tonne for stone and boulder gravel, a critical move considering Haryana's geographic positioning, bordered by six states.
Funds collected under the ISTP will aid in infrastructure development, including check posts, surveillance, and advanced tracking systems. The Cabinet also made key changes to matters involving MLA medical facilities, agricultural dues, and Sikh Gurdwara management, ensuring improved governance and oversight.
