Crackdown on Drone-Related Misinformation in Meerut

Eight individuals have been detained in Meerut for allegedly disseminating misleading information about drones on social media platforms, officials reported Saturday. Law enforcement authorities have filed 15 First Information Reports (FIRs) in connection with the case.
The police have identified 28 fake posts, distributed across multiple social media channels including 19 on Instagram, seven on Facebook, and two on X (formerly known as Twitter).
In addition to the arrests, authorities are pursuing additional suspects believed to be involved. Meerut's Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Vipin Tada, emphasized that flying drones without police permission and spreading false information is illegal, and assured that strict legal actions will continue to deter these activities.
