The Delhi government is taking decisive steps to streamline business operations and living standards in the capital, aiming to create a more investor-friendly environment. This initiative, led by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, focuses on refining the licensing regime and integrating data across multiple departments.
Friday's meeting brought together key figures, including the Home Minister and heads of various departments like environment and trade, to discuss reforms that simplify processes and reduce red tape. Challenges such as fragmented databases and complex fee structures, which currently hinder efficiency, were at the forefront of discussions.
Strategies to tackle these issues include the empanelment of third-party auditors for fire clearance and creating common forms for NOCs. The government also considers adopting Tripura's self-certification model for small industries, with an eye on enabling ease of compliance and coordination across various local offices under the oversight of district magistrates.
