A 23-year-old man in Indore city has been apprehended with alprazolam tablets, the local police revealed on Sunday. The accused, identified as Jitendra Maloriya, was arrested after a detailed tip-off was acted upon by the police team.
The police, led by Sub-Inspector Kamal Kishore from Banganga police station, discovered two strips of alprazolam, each containing 15 tablets, in Maloriya's possession, leading to his arrest under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Alprazolam is recognized for its use in treating anxiety and panic disorders but is strictly regulated under the NDPS Act. Law enforcement continues to investigate the drug's source and intended distribution, aiming to unearth further illegal activities.
