Tragedy at Bapatla Quarry: Granite Rock Collapse Claims Six Workers' Lives

A tragic accident occurred at a quarry in Bapatla district, resulting in the deaths of six migrant workers and injuries to three others. The incident happened at approximately 10:30 am when the workers, all from Odisha, were engaged in mining activities.

The police suspect that water seepage caused the granite rock to collapse, and forensic teams are currently investigating the scene. Rescue operations were promptly initiated, with mining department officials joining forces with the police to ensure rapid response.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and has directed officials to provide optimal medical treatment for the injured while launching a comprehensive investigation. The YSRCP chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, also conveyed his condolences and emphasized the need for immediate support for the affected families.
