In a major crackdown in Ghumarwin, authorities have apprehended three individuals involved in a lottery scam. The suspects allegedly sold lottery tickets and gave away outdated goods as prizes. The incident surfaced after locals grew suspicious and alerted officials.

Upon investigation, a team from the Excise and Taxation Department discovered that items such as gas stoves and LED TVs were being distributed as prizes. The sellers, however, failed to furnish any valid bills or documentation for these goods. Assistant Commissioner Vikas Thakur confirmed immediate action was taken, including an Rs 8,000 fine imposed on the accused.

Further probe revealed that the vehicle used by the accused was registered in Uttar Pradesh. Additional goods were seized from their residence, escalating the investigation. Currently, the confiscated vehicle and goods are secured as inquiries continue.
