In a significant bust, police in Rajasthan's Nagaur district seized over 1,400 kilograms of poppy husk, estimated to be worth more than Rs 2.16 crore. The operation, announced on Monday, led to the arrest of Shravanram Vishnoi, who had concealed the narcotics in 50 sacks on a farm in Bhed village.
The intelligence-driven operation was spearheaded by the Anti-Gangster Task Force. Acting on credible intelligence, a team from Panchori police station conducted a raid, leading to Vishnoi's arrest on the spot. During questioning, Vishnoi disclosed that he received the narcotics consignment three days prior from Dinesh Bishnoi, a resident of Bhavad village in Jodhpur district.
Senior officers revealed that the consignment was meant for delivery to Akha Ram Jat in Tankla village. Efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest Dinesh Bishnoi and Akha Ram Jat, as the investigation into this drug trafficking network deepens.
