A Jammu Central University student, originally from Bihar, has been apprehended on charges of supplying illegal arms to criminal elements in the Jammu and Samba districts. The police disclosed the arrest on Monday, noting that it followed a detailed investigation into a recent firing incident.
Kaif Ahmed, the student from the Central University of Jammu, had his activities scrutinized after a shooting outside a Miran Sahib hotel on February 23. On the day of the incident, two gangsters were caught with pistols, and authorities later tracked down Balwinder Singh, alias Goru Jatt, with more weapons after an extensive six-month pursuit.
The police's meticulous follow-up on leads led to Ahmed's arrest, whom they suspect to be the chief supplier of these illegal arms. While the investigation continues, law enforcement believes more arrests and weapon recoveries are imminent.
