In a move that underscores the state's stance against discriminatory practices, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the suspension of SN Singh, Joint Director of the Panchayati Raj Department. The suspension followed Singh's controversial directive that linked encroachment removal to specific castes and religious communities.
The directive, which called for clearing encroachments from Gram Sabha land by targeting specific communities, was met with swift action as Adityanath expressed his disapproval. The chief minister labeled the order as 'completely discriminatory and unacceptable,' leading to its immediate revocation.
Adityanath criticized the directive for representing a 'serious administrative lapse' and directly challenging the inclusive policies of the state government. He emphasized that such divisive language and mindset have no place in the administration.
