In a continuation of its strict stance against espionage and terrorism, Iran executed two men on Wednesday. One was accused of spying for Israel, while the other was linked to the Islamic State group, state media reported.
The judiciary's news website, Mizanonline, identified the alleged spy as Rouzbeh Vadi, charged with leaking classified details about an Iranian nuclear scientist to Israel's Mossad. Officials claim these actions coincided with Israel's targeted strikes in June, aiming at Iranian nuclear experts.
Separately, Iran executed Mehdi Aghazadeh, accused of being an ISIS member involved in sabotage plans. Authorities allege Aghazadeh underwent military training in Syria and Iraq. Iran's Supreme Court affirmed both sentences, reportedly adhering to full legal protocols.
