KCBC Voices Concerns Against Christian Persecution and Government Discrimination

The Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council (KCBC) has raised alarm over the growing persecution of Christian minorities across India. In a statement released on Wednesday, the KCBC affirmed its support for the nuns and 'brothers' who have been unjustly jailed in Chhattisgarh, urging the case against them be withdrawn and their constitutional rights restored.

Moreover, the KCBC has protested a state government order dated July 31, criticizing its discriminatory approach towards the appointment of differently-abled candidates in aided schools. Following a Supreme Court judgment favoring similar cases, the KCBC Commission for Education argued for its extension, but the government maintained that the order was exclusive to the Nair Service Society (NSS).

Additionally, the KCBC updated on its housing project for disaster victims, with 20 of 100 houses completed, expecting completion by December. The council also planned to celebrate the 'Jubilee of Hope' for the Universal Church on December 13 at the Muringoor Divine Meditation Centre.
