The violence erupted Wednesday evening as four men associated with three YouTube channels were assaulted by a large mob while interviewing a person amid an ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into an alleged mass burial case. The district police reported multiple cases filed across two police stations. Allegations range from assault on media personnel to unlawful assemblies in locations including the Pangala area near Dharmasthala.
