The Punjab Police swiftly moved into action, apprehending two individuals, one of them a juvenile, following a disturbing incident where pro-Khalistan slogans were spray-painted at three Amritsar locations.

According to police reports, US-based Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, head of the banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), claimed responsibility for the act via a social media video. Amritsar Commissionerate Police managed to trace and arrest the suspects within 24 hours of the graffiti's appearance, as confirmed by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.

The investigation revealed that the arrested individuals had been in contact with a foreign-based operative, Shamsher Singh alias Shera Maan, who allegedly guided them to execute the graffiti on Pannu's instructions. Despite promises of payment via social media platforms, no monetary reward was given. The Commissioner of Police, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, disclosed that legal action has been initiated, with FIRs lodged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Defacement of Property Act.
