Two Catholic nuns from Chhattisgarh, accused of human trafficking and forced religious conversion, met with Kerala BJP chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Saturday in New Delhi.
Preethi Mary and Vandana Francis, who were arrested following charges leveled by a local Bajrang Dal member, were recently released on bail. Accompanied by their families, the nuns expressed gratitude to Chandrasekhar for his intervention in their case.
Chandresekar was assured of his continued support in the potentially contentious case, which has drawn significant attention due to its implications on religious freedoms in India.
