An employee of an e-commerce firm in southwest Delhi's Sagarpur has been arrested for allegedly stealing high-end mobile phones from his workplace, police reported on Sunday.

The arrest of Manish Kumar, also known as Bilal, took place at Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, following a joint police operation on August 13. Two stolen iPhones and a costly Android handset were recovered. The theft was initially reported by the company on August 9, prompting an e-FIR and subsequent investigation.

Kumar confessed during police interrogation that he utilized his role as a team leader to disable CCTV cameras by cutting off their power supply. The accused, an MBA graduate, joined the company nearly 10 months ago, and had insider knowledge which helped him orchestrate the theft, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Amit Goel, who added that further investigations are ongoing.
