On Monday, the Odisha Vigilance Department initiated a comprehensive search operation targeting the properties of an engineer suspected of owning substantial assets beyond his disclosed income, according to officials. The properties under scrutiny belong to the superintending engineer of the Angul irrigation division, with inspections being carried out across eight locations, including major cities such as Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
The operation is spearheaded by vigilance teams comprising three deputy superintendents of police, 10 inspectors, four assistant sub-inspectors, and additional supporting staff. This extensive raid follows search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh.
Authorities are meticulously examining the assets to determine the extent of the alleged financial discrepancies. This crackdown reflects ongoing efforts to address corruption and unethical accumulation of wealth within government ranks.
