A local court has mandated that a former flight attendant sign a bond pledging to refrain from subjecting her mother-in-law to domestic abuse. This legal action stems from a complaint filed under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 by the elderly woman.

According to the complaint, the daughter-in-law allegedly forced entry into her mother-in-law's residence on August 6, engaging in both verbal abuse and physical aggression before locking the main entrance. On August 13, the court issued an interim order indicating there was sufficient preliminary evidence to support these claims of domestic violence.

Despite not appearing in person or via legal representation at the hearing, the court's ex-parte decision requires the accused to submit a bond ensuring no further domestic violence is inflicted upon her mother-in-law. Until she presents herself in court, she is prohibited from any contact with her mother-in-law, as explained by Advocate Ashish S Sharma, the complainant's lawyer, to PTI. Sharma added that the daughter-in-law has been living separately from her husband, who she married in 2020.
