India Reaffirms Stance on Taiwan Amid Diplomatic Clarification

In a recent diplomatic interaction, India has reiterated its unaltered stance on Taiwan, focusing primarily on economic, technological, and cultural relations. This statement was issued in response to China's misinterpretation of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
The talks, which took place shortly after Wang's arrival in Delhi, saw the Indian side underlining its consistent position on Taiwan, emphasizing mutual ties in key sectors. Despite lacking formal diplomatic relations, India's association with Taiwan has strengthened in trade, technology, and cultural interactions.
Taiwan, a significant player in the global semiconductor industry, continues to engage with India, with the two sides having signed a migration and mobility agreement last year. The Indian-Taipei economic relationship stands unaffected despite overtures from China to acknowledge the 'One-China' policy.
