Massive Clean-Up of Inactive Ration Cards in Jharkhand
In Jharkhand's East Singhbhum, authorities have removed over 50,000 inactive ration card holders following a verification drive. Out of 1,64,237 inactive holders, 50,323 were removed, while others undergo verification. The initiative aims to ensure that only genuine beneficiaries receive food grains.

In a significant move, authorities in Jharkhand's East Singhbhum have deleted the names of over 50,000 inactive ration card holders who did not use their cards for six months or more.
According to officials, a total of 50,323 out of 1,64,237 unresponsive cardholders were eliminated as a result of a thorough verification drive.
This drive, initiated by Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, was aimed at ensuring that only eligible beneficiaries continue to receive food grains, thereby streamlining the distribution system and reducing fraud.
