A domestic dispute over a meal choice turned violent in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, when a woman attacked her husband with a knife, the police confirmed on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night in Mahavir Akhara locality, under the jurisdiction of Rasra police station. Sanjay Kumar, 28, was involved in a heated argument with his wife, Lalbuchi Devi, over the absence of flour, which led to her preparing 'khichdi' for dinner instead of 'rotis'.
Aggravated by Sanjay's insistence for 'rotis', Lalbuchi, in a rage, stabbed him in the chest. Villagers quickly took Sanjay to a community health centre, where medical staff referred him to a hospital in Mau. The police are probing the incident as no formal complaint has been filed yet, according to DSP Alok Gupta.
