NHAI Project Director Arrested in Bribery Scandal
A CBI operation led to the arrest of an NHAI project director and an accomplice for accepting a bribe. The accused had demanded Rs 1 lakh but settled for Rs 60,000 to allow a restaurant's operation near a toll plaza unhindered. Both were caught in a trap set by the CBI.

A project director of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Warangal, along with another individual, was apprehended by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on charges of accepting a Rs 60,000 bribe.
The bribe was allegedly demanded to ensure the smooth operation of a restaurant near the Gudur Toll Plaza on the Hyderabad-Warangal Highway. Initially, a Rs 1 lakh bribe was requested by Golla Durga Prasad and his associate, Venu Yadav.
The CBI set up a sting operation, apprehending both individuals as they took the bribe. Being produced before the court, searches are ongoing at various locations, where incriminating documents have been confiscated.
