Russia's Pacific Fleet Fires Missiles in Sea of Japan Drills

The Russian Pacific Fleet showcased its military prowess by launching cruise and anti-ship missiles during an exercise in the Sea of Japan, the Russian defense ministry announced on Thursday. The exercise saw participation from the fleet's naval aviation aircraft and drones.

The missiles, Kalibr and Uran, were fired from the Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate, successfully hitting their intended targets. The defense ministry released video footage illustrating the successful deployment of these missiles.

This comes amid growing discussions in Japan about potentially revising its 'Three Non-Nuclear Principles,' which prohibit the production, possession, or hosting of nuclear weapons in Japanese territory, a shift noted earlier this month by Reuters.
