Operation Chakravyuh Cracks Down on Narcotics Trafficker's Assets

In a significant move to curb narcotics trade, Pratapgarh police on Tuesday conducted a seizure of assets worth Rs 1 crore belonging to an alleged drug trafficker. This operation was part of 'Operation Chakravyuh', as confirmed by officials.
The person at the center of this action, identified as Ghanshyam alias Laddu, is a 34-year-old resident of Tilak Nagar. Authorities apprehended him under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, according to Superintendent of Police B Aditya.
In February, police had intercepted a truck carrying 20.82 kg of crude brown sugar, concealed in a secret compartment, valued at Rs 20 crore. Investigations revealed Ghanshyam's involvement in smuggling operations from Manipur, distributing in various regions. Assets seized include a luxury house, a truck, and a car, with total value aligned with the proceeds of illicit trade. The Competent Authority in New Delhi endorsed the action.
