Inauguration of AI Excellence Center Marks a Milestone in Innovation and Integrity

On Tuesday, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, inaugurated the 'Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence, Skill Development, and Innovation' at Graphic Era University. The initiative highlights the growing role of AI in technology-based education and innovation across India.

Speaking at the event, Singh emphasized the importance of ethical AI application. He noted that while AI can achieve significant advancements when used responsibly, it can also be misused, pointing to concerns like deepfakes and misinformation. Singh advocated for AI as a complement to human intelligence, promoting a hybrid model in decision-making processes.

The center spans an impressive 1.5 lakh square feet and is the first of its kind in Uttarakhand. Among its features are an Apple iOS Development Centre and NVIDIA AI computing facilities. This project supports crucial sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, and smart city development, and aligns with government missions like Digital India and Startup India.

Graphic Era University, recognized for its academic excellence, aims to integrate academic research with industry and entrepreneurial ventures. Singh highlighted India's emergence as a leader in technology adoption, linking this progress to the integrity in AI usage. The center aims to equip the next generation of tech professionals with skills and ethical guidelines needed for the digital future.
