In a fresh legal turn of events, journalist Paranjoy Guha Thakurta has lodged an appeal at a Delhi district court, questioning a civil court's earlier decision. The order had restrained him from circulating potentially defamatory material concerning Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL).
During a conversation with PTI, Thakurta confirmed the appeal's submission following the September 6 ruling. The case is scheduled for a hearing imminently, according to sources.
Previously, a defamation lawsuit, initiated by AEL, led a civil judge to direct Thakurta and other defendants to remove existing controversial content from websites, articles, and social media within a specified timeframe.
