Nine individuals, including two government employees, have been detained in a disturbing case of sexual assault involving a 16-year-old boy in Kerala. Authorities revealed the victim was befriended on an LGBTQ community app.
Among the arrested, a Railway official and a sub-district education officer face charges under the POCSO Act. The education officer has been suspended, reflecting the gravity of the case that tarnishes state departments' images.
The assaults, occurring over two years, prompted 14 separate case registrations. A Special Investigation Team is probing incidents in Kasaragod, while other cases are handled in Kozhikode and Kannur districts.
