A dramatic encounter unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district, leading to the arrest of a man suspected of cattle slaughter, police reported on Thursday. A joint effort by police saw Nazim, hailing from Shekhupura village, arrested after sustaining injuries during a retaliatory gunfire exchange with law enforcement.
Accompanied by two others, who managed to flee under the cover of darkness, Nazim allegedly opened fire on officers attempting to thwart an illicit cattle slaughtering operation near Dadri Mor forest. Officials stated that Nazim is currently receiving medical treatment while in custody.
The police recovered a .315 bore country-made pistol, alongside live and spent cartridges, cattle slaughter tools, a motorcycle, and a calf. With numerous criminal cases against him, Nazim has been booked under pertinent legal sections, and authorities are actively pursuing his absconding accomplices.
